Adam Mickiewicz University
is a Polish public university located in Poznań and one of the oldest universities in this part of Europe. AMU was founded on 4 April 1919 thanks to the efforts of the `Friends of Science` Socilety, but its history dates back to the early 17th century and is identified with the activities of the Lubrański Academy. It is one of ten Polish universities with the status of a research university. The AMU’s structure consists of five discipline schools with twenty faculties, a doctoral school and four branches in Słubice (co-run with the European University Viadrina), Gniezno, Piła and Kalisz. There are more than 50,000 people studying in one hundred available fields of study and more than two hundred courses.Team members
Jarosław Jańczak
Political scientist, Europeanist, researcher of borders, habilitated doctor of social sciences, working as an associate professor. In the ValEUs project he coordinates the AMU team’s works.
Beata Przybylska-Maszner
Beata Przybylska-Maszner - political scientist, Europeanist, associate Professor in the Department of European Integration at the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism - Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, vice-president of Centre of European Documentation Centre in Poznań, Editor in Chief of 'Rocznik Integracji Europejskiej' (the European Integration Yearbook) and member of European Commission network of experts in European studies Team Europe Direct Poland. Her academic interests focus on the themes of institutionalisation process of the European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy.
Paulina Pospieszna
Political scientist (Ph.D. from the University of Alabama); serves as an Associate Professor. Her research centers on democracy promotion, democratic innovations, and civil society in CEE, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods; Leads Democratic Innovations research group, and serves as the PI for two research projects funded by the Polish National Science Center.
Jakub Jakubowski
PhD in Political Science. He is a media researcher and social media specialist. At ValEUs, he is in charge of communication and promotion of the project.
